Per Nevada law (NAC 624.280), a C10 contractors license is needed to work on irrigation. Our license number is c10 0070688. A business license is not enough!
Many times properties have a PVB / Backflow for the irrigation system to turn on and off the water. It might look like the ones above. They may have a copper colored top instead of a black one like these. Often times we see them located in homes front or the side yards. Never force knobs and make sure it is only for the irrigation. If the PVB is broken, leaking or rusted we may be able to replace it.
If the leak only shows up when the irrigation is on / running you might be able to turn your irrigation clock to the off position.
Many times there is more than one at a property. Sometimes the one(s) in the front yard control the irrigation in the front yard and the one(s) in the back yard control the back yard.
A similar set up is probably in a valve box.
They come in different shapes and sizes and are usually near plants or where plants use to be. They can come off, get clogged or break.

1. Many landscaping maintenance contracts call for irrigation systems to be checked for leaks once a month. If a system is checked today and a leak starts tomorrow it might mean a month goes by before it gets found and fixed. This can be costly as properties can be paying for the water and possibly fines.
2. Someone notices a leak but how long was it leaking for before it was seen?
1. Setting irrigation to come on when there is a chance there is someone looking at the landscaping might allow for quicker detection.
2. There are devices that detect non-normal water use. When they do; many will send emails and / or text messages out notifying staff so someone can be sent out to assess and fix leaks if they are found.
We like discussing items like this for the environmental aspect as well as the potential financial savings.
On Time Landscaping has been a properly licensed contractor since 2008 and is equipped and licensed to fix, replace or install most irrigation / sprinkler systems and components. Feeling comfortable knowing the work was done the right way the first time is worth something. Fixing leaks saves money and water.

We do our best to provide a cost prior to doing work. Sometimes we can not see what is wrong until we start digging and sometimes we fix one issue and another one may present itself so pricing can change.
Parts are not always the most expensive part of irrigation work. A reasonable amount of the cost, especially if it is an emergency call is the cost and time it takes to get to and from a property (and to get parts if we don’t have them with us).
